Myanmar’s most prestigious real estate awards returns for a third year with support from the Oxford Business Group
The PropertyGuru Myanmar Property Awards has teamed up with internationally acclaimed business intelligence provider Oxford Business Group for the upcoming third annual gala evening.
Building on the success of the first two highly successful editions, this year’s PropertyGuru Myanmar Property Awards gala dinner is set to take place on Friday, 30 June 2017, at the ballroom of Sedona Hotel Yangon, an awardee last year.
The black-tie event will see the country’s leading and up-and-coming names in property development, architecture and design competing for the year’s biggest honours in real estate, with categories covering the residential, commercial and hospitality sectors.
Richard Emerson, managing director at Emerson Real Estate (Myanmar), returns to chair the judging panel, while Zaw Erskine, director at BDO, the world’s fifth largest auditing and accountancy firm, leads the awards’ supervisory team in Myanmar.
“It has been a momentous year for the awards programme and it is an honour to return to Myanmar to celebrate the country’s finest real estate companies and developments,” says Terry Blackburn, founder and managing director at PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards. “As ever, Myanmar continues to be a frontier market in Asia, with a rapidly growing economy that is poised to exceed expectations in 2017 per World Bank projections.”
Judging panel chairman Emerson, who has been involved with inaugural Awards in 2015, was quoted as saying “Myanmar’s tourism infrastructure is critical to sustain the real estate market in 2017, as well as fleshed-out economic policies. Right now there are a lot of foreign investors coming in – and there clearly is enough demand in the market – but it may not be sustained if Myanmar is not a mortgage market. However, we can now look forward to working with Myanmar’s new government to overcome the challenges.”
The Winners and Highly Commended will be revealed on Friday, 30 June 2017, at the exclusive gala dinner that will be attended by more than 300 senior industry figures and VIPs including U Aung Naing Oo, director General of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA), who will give the keynote address.
OBG members are entitled to a special discount (12 percent) for the gala dinner, with single tickets priced at only USD175 (full price: USD200).
