U Aung Naing Oo will highlight the investment potential and opportunities at Myanmar’s biggest real estate event of the year
The PropertyGuru Myanmar Property Awards, the biggest and most prestigious annual gathering of the country’s real estate achievers, has named the keynote speaker for its forthcoming gala dinner on 30 June at the Sedona Hotel Yangon.
U Aung Naing Oo, Director General of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA), and Secretary of the Myanmar Investment Commission, is scheduled to grace the exclusive event that will welcome more than 250 senior industry leaders and decision-makers.
Known for bringing in positive changes to DICA policies, U Aung Naing Oo has been speaking about Myanmar’s investment potential and opportunities at various events and functions in the ASEAN region.
One of the biggest positive changes in the country is the new Myanmar Investment Law, which aims to “develop businesses and investment businesses that meet international standards,” and “create job opportunities for the people.”
With the new law coming into force last 1 April 2017, U Aung Naing Oo believes that more foreign investment will pour into the country and aid in the further growth of the real estate sector, which is among the emerging markets in the Southeast Asian region.
U Aung Naing Oo will deliver his opening keynote speech before the Winners and Highly Commended presentation of the third annual PropertyGuru Myanmar Property Awards gala dinner.
Twelve finalists are competing for a total of 17 competition categories and special awards, divided into three main sections: Developer, Development and Design.
The event will also celebrate Myanmar’s Real Estate Personality of the Year, Shwe Taung Group CEO Aung Zaw Naing, who was chosen by the editors of PropertyGuru Property Report magazine, Asia’s most trusted and enduring luxury real estate, architecture and design publication, for his noteworthy contributions to the local property sector in the past year.
Domestic winners in Myanmar’s competition categories will advance to the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards grand final held annually every November in Singapore, where they can receive further regional recognitions.
